About Us

The goal of EastSight Consulting is to help companies increase revenue and lower costs through more effective utilization of external information in internal decision making processes. Too often, decisions on strategic and tactical issues are made based primarily on isolated bits of data and political concerns. EastSight Consulting President Parmelee B. Eastman has been in the field of business research for seven years. She has over 25 years' experience in business research, business development, P&L management, and marketing, both as a consultant and while employed at small and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to founding EastSight Consulting, she was the vice president of the global technology and communications practice at leading business research firm Fuld & Company, where she delivered a wide range of projects for both US and international clients. Previously, she had a successful 16 year career at Digital Equipment Corporation in sales, marketing, P&L management, and customer finance.

Ms. Eastman has analyzed strategies of major software vendors and desktop services usage and has developed pricing and discount structures for product and service vendors. She has also managed numerous client engagements in the information technology and communications industries. Her experience includes studies of sales and marketing tactics, studies of e-business models, needs of global communications users in the three to five year timeframe, best practices in the distribution, support, sales, and marketing of technology products, key success factors in industry leaders, and the launching of new products and services. With these insights, she has helped clients win more business, enter new markets, improve operations, and create new visions of the future.

As a Product Marketing Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation, Ms. Eastman managed the P&L of a $250-million business. Her analyses of competitors' sales tactics, marketing plans, service capabilities, financial constraints and product price/performance characteristics were praised by the sales force.

Ms. Eastman received her B.A. in Economics from Wellesley College and her MBA from Harvard University. She is a member of the Boston chapters of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals and Women In Technology International.
