EastSight Consulting announced that the Society of Competitive
Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) has selected a proposal by
EastSight Consulting and
OneSource Information Services to present “The Deadline is 5 PM! –Sources
and techniques to meet tight deadlines” at the annual conference
in Chicago, Illinois April 6-9, 2005. EastSight Consulting president Parmelee
Eastman will be joined at the podium by OneSource Information Services
Product Marketing Manager Michael Levy.
Both internal CI professionals and independent CI consultants
will find the session useful. All CI professionals know how to
obtain data from multiple sources, analyze it, and create a good
presentation given time, but time is not always available. An
emerging competitor pops up suddenly, a competitor hires a new
chief executive officer, or rumors of a new product hit the field.
“The Deadline is 5 PM! – Sources and techniques
to meet tight deadlines” will help CI professionals respond
effectively to rapid turnaround requests from company executives
or external clients by reviewing sources of information that
are already collated and/or analyzed. A wide variety of free,
single-payment, and subscription sites will be included. Information
on how to find these types of sources and how to approach potential
primary sources will be an added bonus for attendees.
The presenters will use real life examples drawn from their
extensive experience in research to illustrate the points. Ms.
Eastman has focused on competitive intelligence for over 11 years
following a successful career in sales and marketing. She has
been invited to speak at several SCIP chapter meetings in addition
to other venues. Mr. Levy has been employed as a CI professional
at several major organizations.
